September to be campuswide Employee Celebration Month

Following its successful debut last year, once again the month of September has been set aside as Employee Celebration Month.
Events for the month are scheduled to begin with a kick-off event on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with recognition and pins for those with 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service in 2003.
Over the course of the month, there will be several events scheduled, including a special day of recognition for people with 25 years of service; and a reception with Chancellor Gordon Gee at the Chancellor’s residence, Braeburn, for those with 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service.
In addition, plans are coming together for several events, including:
• Health Plus physical fitness events, including a fun walk/run
• Performances by talented employees
• Brown bag sessions on popular topics
• Campus historical tours
• The return of Ms. Cheap
• LifeFlight tours
• A softball tournament
Another highlight of the month will be the annual Tailgate event, which will be Sept. 6, when the Vanderbilt football team plays UT Chattanooga. Winners of the Commodore Award will be introduced at halftime of the game.
For more information on the ongoing plans to honor employees in September, call Susie Lyons, who is coordinating the events, at 322-0698.
